Today, Alexander Lukashenko, during a working trip to the Berezovsky District of the Brest Region, inspected a prototype of a combined round baler manufactured by «Bobruiskagromash».
It should be noted that the Head of State had previously emphasized the need to develop a domestically produced baler on multiple occasions. This issue was specifically addressed during a seminar-meeting held in the Minsk District in June 2025. «The baler must be built. This is a matter of utmost urgency»," – Alexander Lukashenko demanded at the time.
Oleg Korsak, General Director of the holding company «Bobruiskagromash», reported to the Head of State that the localization level of the first prototype baler exceeds 70%, while the second prototype already achieves over 80%.
Currently, the baler is undergoing field trials. The unit is designed for operation under various working conditions and is capable of baling both forage and industrial crops.
The testing phase is scheduled to be completed this year, with an experimental batch to be manufactured in 2027, followed by the launch of series production. This will enable Belarus to develop its own in-house expertise in baler control systems, as well as to design and master the mechanisms for feeding and wrapping bales with netting and stretch film, along with the pickup and chopping mechanisms.
The President draws the attention of agricultural producers to the importance of high-quality forage harvesting and silage storage, as these factors largely determine livestock viability during the autumn-winter period and, consequently, the economic performance of the livestock sector.
